I’m working on a project whereby I needed to go through some recent photo albums of past exhibitions.. I found some amazing images of my exhibition in Guangzhou, China 🇨🇳 At @k11artfoundation To bad I can only put 10 pictures in the carousel to swipe!

By now you have probably seen some of my IG stories during the creation process of this sculpture.. I named it “Reflections of an Angel”This is the 4th sculpture in my ongoing series based on the Pinocchio character.Most people think the Pinocchio character is created by Walt Disney,  but Disney was actually inspired by a 1883 Italian children’s novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.Pinocchio, a marionette puppet , must earn the right to become a real boy by proving to be truthful, brave and selfless.For my sculpture “Reflections of an Angel” I wanted to expand on this traditional story by adding wings to the character and posing a question to the viewer.. the question is “ if one makes a mistake or isn’t truthful, does one lose it angels wings, or the possibility to become a real boy? “As people we want to be truthful, brave and selfless… but in the process of maturing we tend to experiment and stumble, to get back up and reset.There are obvious boundaries in society .. but there are also areas where there is more margin to make mistakes and come back a better person.. do you still have your wings? #contemporaryart #josephklibansky #sculpture #artoftheday #artbasel #art

I am more then proud to finally show you my new sculpture titled “Beyond the Clouds” We have worked on this monumental piece in relative secrecy as we didn’t want to spoil the WoW at the end ☀️ Now I can finally show you what we have been working on for the past 6 month! We worked around the clock to get it done in time for the unveiling. The piece is close to 9 meters tall (30 foot) And made out of stainless steel and bronze. Here is a midway production shot of my new stainless steel and bronze sculpture. As you can see when zooming in a bit, we have applied body filler and primer on some parts of the steel. We will completely smoothen out the astronauts body and paint it white at the end 👩🏽‍🚀 you probably can see the shape of the bronze elements by now..? . #art #artist #design #artwork
