When contemporary art and pop culture converge, something exceptional can emerge. Warner Bros. and DC Comics proudly announce an exclusive global collaboration with internationally renowned Dutch artist Joseph Klibansky. This multi-year partnership marks a significant moment in which the visual power of Klibansky’s contemporary artistic practice meets one of the most iconic universes in popular culture.
This collaboration represents a milestone: it is the first time Warner Bros. and DC Comics have entered into a global creative partnership of this kind with a Dutch artist. As such, contemporary Dutch art takes on a prominent role within the international DC Universe.
Joseph Klibansky was personally approached by Warner Bros. for this collaboration and considers it a major milestone in his international career. The partnership creates a dynamic dialogue between art, fashion, design, and pop culture — a fusion of worlds that increasingly intersect on the global stage.
The collaboration launches with one of the most legendary characters in DC history: Superman. In this first release, Klibansky reinterprets the iconic symbol of hope, strength, and heroism into an exclusive collection of art collectibles and design objects, combining his distinctive visual language with the timeless power of the character. “It is an incredible honor to be approached by Warner Bros. and DC Comics for a global collaboration. Superman is a timeless icon. It is truly special to reinterpret this character within my own artistic universe and share it with a global audience,” says Joseph Klibansky.
The first Superman collection will launch globally on April 5, marking the beginning of a series of releases that will continue to unfold within the DC Universe over the coming years.
Through this collaboration, Warner Bros. and DC Comics build a new bridge between iconic storytelling and contemporary art, while Joseph Klibansky expands his international body of work with a distinctive pop-cultural dimension.
More information about the collection and the global launch on April 5 will be announced soon.
