The first painting I ever made in my Thought Paintings series. The piece is called “Chemistry of Life” .Thought Paintings are my latest experimental research in two-dimensional expression. Thoughts and emotions are always on the move in the frenetic contemporary world of the faster connections. In this digital age we are constantly bombarded with visual contents, every hour we grab our smartphone to check on the latest social media updates. Even when we don’t use that, we are still exposed to brightly colored billboards and other forms of advertisement. When we choose to go offline for some quality down-time, we could anyway be exposed to brands around the house or childrens videos and games like Disney I try to record it in fragments or pieces of text, in drawings and even in Disney symbols, familiar and destabilizing at the same time. Elements from very different worlds are all of a sudden forced to engage in a dialogue with each otherHave you ever tried to put your thoughts on a white paper? .#painting #contemporaryart #artbaselmiami

“Happily ever After” is one of the most detailed sculptures I have created.Image that this bronze sculpture consists out of many separate pieces that all have to be welded together afterwards.This means that the crocodile skin pattern is lost on the welded seems.We have to manually carve back the original shape and “hide” the seems so it will be totally invisible.Afterwards we polish every little detail to a high gloss finish.The creation of this piece,  from wax model till shiny bronze sculpture takes about 4 months.. and this is quite a small sculpture..image the large croc!.#contemporaryart #sculpture #crocodile

“Happily ever After” is one of the most detailed sculptures I have created. Image that this bronze sculpture consists out of many separate pieces that all have to be welded together afterwards. This means that the crocodile skin pattern is lost on the welded seems. We have to manually carve back the original shape and “hide” the seems so it will be totally invisible. Afterwards we polish every little detail to a high gloss finish. The creation of this piece, from wax model till shiny bronze sculpture takes about 4 months.. and this is quite a small sculpture..image the large croc! . #contemporaryart #sculpture #crocodile
