At the intersection of art and science, Leonardo da Vinci sought to explore the harmony between the human form and the proportions of the natural world. His iconic Vitruvian Man encapsulates the beauty of symmetry and balance, acting as a symbol of the interconnectedness of all things. Drawing inspiration from da Vinci’s masterpiece, I embarked on a voyage to create a sculpture that encapsulates the spirit of discovery and the quest for unity.
A special Vitruvian spaceman patch was created by NASA engineer Fred Keune, This embroidered emblem is worn on the right shoulder of U.S. spacesuits used in Extravehicular Activity (EVA) or “spacewalks”
Whereby an astronaut walk on the outside of a space station to do maintenance , only 215 people have ever done a spacewalk
NASA transferred this patch to the Museum in 2013.
