I have been working on this new sculpture concept for a while now.. the story behind this piece is very personal to me.
As a four year old child we were allowed to take a cuddly toy 🧸 for you first school days to make you feel more comfortable in a new environment.

For me my favorite toy was a hard plastic 1986 Godzilla..
The teachers and other parents couldn’t believe that a young child chose this scary looking beast as their favorite cuddly toy to bring them comfort.

They literally called my parents, asking if this was a joke because the other kids had nightmares from my toy.
My parents told them in honest truth.. “no really, Joseph even sleeps with this thing in his bed!” Nobody could separate me from it

My father kept this Godzilla my entire life! I still have the original, now vintage 1986 piece.. all weathered and used.
Even my nieces played with it for a bit.

I wanted to give new life to this childhood friend.. so I created a Klibansky space suit around him to take him into the 21st century and immortalize him through my art forever 🤍 thank you to my father for keeping him al these year xxx
Feel free to share it 🙏🏽
